Chris’s practice focuses on helping individuals break through barriers and blind spots in order to increase awareness and lead more effectively. The quote: “If you think you’re leading, but turn around to see no one is following, then you’re just taking a walk.” is one of Chris’s favorite motivational thoughts. Chris’s goal is to make sure those who want to lead are not walking by themselves! Chris helps others become aware of what is holding them back, then develops strategies to help them reach their full potential.
Chris started his career as a college basketball coach, becoming one of the youngest head coaches in the country at the age of 28. Looking to create a better work/life balance, Chris decided to accept a position coaching at Tabor Academy, a boarding school on the South Coast of Massachusetts. During his time at Tabor Chris led the basketball program, that had struggled to win, to become one of the most successful and consistent teams in New England, qualifying for the league tournament seven times in ten years.
While leading the basketball program at Tabor Chris branched out beyond basketball, becoming a Dean. As a Dean Chris began focusing on leadership and communication education. Chris, with the help of an alumn, created Tabor’s Leadership Symposium which was initially delivered in 2014. This symposium is delivered annually to the entire student body as well as the faculty. It was during this time that Chris realized how effective leadership and communication can truly influence an organization’s culture.
Chris was awarded his M.A. in Education from Tufts University and his B.A. in Communication from Boston College.
